Former ISBER President Dr. William Grizzle wrote an important article, relevant for biobankers and researchers who use human biospecimens, for the Letters to the Editor section of Clinical Cancer Research. This article concerns the proposed changes to the US federal policy on human subjects research (Common Rule), that includes significant changes regarding the use of human biospecimens. The journal has given ISBER permission to post the letter on the ISBER website.
The consultation period, during which you can provide comments regarding the proposed rule changes, closes on December 7th, so it is important that ISBER members read the letter and submit a personal or institutional response. ISBER will be offering its collective comments on behalf of our membership as well.
